We promise we will never share your information externally.
We promise we will not save log files, we will minimize file creation and delete created files immediately after use and we will not collect any data from or about you beyond the minimum information necessary for us to maintain an anonymous relationship with you.
This represents one of our foundational concepts; we like to keep it anonymous.
We maintain a database of requests which will only be used to limit your bandwidth consumption and show you your history but even these limited transactions (which are keyed by user API key which only links to an email address) will not be shared externally, ever. This information is only used for rate limiting.
We will never target you with advertisements or spam (we hate spam). We will never reach out to you or send you email unless you sign up for the newsletter in which case we will email you a newsletter periodically, which you may opt out of at any time.
In the case of billing we will use an anonymous session ID provided by our third party payment processor and we will never see your information. We will only be able to link an external transaction identifier with an internal user email address.
This represents another one of our foundational concepts; if we don't know anything about you we can't share anything about you.
Should our site ever be breached all the intruder would be able to access is a database of email addresses with encrypted passwords and encrypted external transaction IDs. In this case we would notify all users immediately (this would be a rare occasion where we send you unsolicited email) that the intruders had accessed the aforementioned limited information and you most likely will soon be receiving some spam but not from us.
This demonstrates two more foundational concepts; we believe in honesty and transparency in our business dealings and encrypted data in transit and at rest.
We do allow you to opt-in to share your transcriptions but these are not identified with you in any way. They are simply audio chunks and associated text which we donate to other voice projects to help them with their training data sets. By default we do not share anything including these anonymous snippetts, however, if you opt-in we will donate these items to our favorite charities. Its one of the ways we try to give back to the community.
